Seasons Greetings

Thanksgiving 2009

Greetings!

It’s been a whirlwind of a year for us, and it is hard to believe the decade is really coming to a close. In the last year, our family has grown by one member, and in many ways our time is simply spent keeping up with the chaos that two lively children create.

Early in the morning on April 4th, Rosalie Ragna decided to make her entrance into this world – just a few days earlier than her mother had hoped. I had one more day of teaching left, and had expected to join the church choir in Easter services that weekend, but Rosalie had other plans. Addy was thrilled with her sister from the first day we brought her home: shaking Rosalie’s tiny hand, and saying “Nice to meet you!” Rosalie has the sweetest disposition: she loves to smile and cuddle with just about anyone and absolutely worships her older sister.

Addy started in the preschool room of her daycare this fall. She thoroughly enjoys being around ‘big kids’ and thrives on the wonderful stimulation. She lives every moment of her life intensely, whether it be giving big, smacking kisses, “singing” her very own versions of songs (“Away in a manger, no crib for a bed . . . sky, sky, sky . . . it’s raining . . .”) or even throwing some pretty impressive temper tantrums (she is two, after all!). Her greatest passion, however, is food: eating it, watching it being prepared and most of all making it herself. We’re starting to think we might have a future chef on our hands!

Wade & I have been fortunate to continue in our jobs this year. Wade has been working an intense schedule at Hewlett Packard on his latest large-format printer project. I finished another semester teaching Microbiology at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and will be adding a Biology of Women course to me repertoire this Spring. We may have less time for recreation, but that just means that we appreciate every free moment that much more.

May you find joy in the closing of the year, and may 2010 find you and your family happy and healthy!
